Environmental Commitment

St. George Publishing is 100% devoted to minimizing the negative effect that our business has on the environment. In order to succeed in this sensitive area, we take pride in a number of aspects within our digital print production process:

• Our digital process does not involve the use of printing plates necessary to our offset printing competitors. The digital process requires little or no makeready, so there is significantly less waste expended for each job setup.

• Unlike offset printers, we use no hazardous chemicals in our printing process. Wet inks, fountain solutions, coating solutions, platemaking bath solutions, cleaning solutions, and rags for applying these solutions during the printing and disposal process are not used in digital printing.

• Our digital printers are not only Energy Star compliant, but they utilize wax based recyclable ink.

• The principal component of waste is the paper that is used in the setup process. Standard offset printing can produce up to 75% waste while superior digital setup produces as little as 5%. The digital workflows we use to manage our printing and proofing process keep the printing of unnecessary proofs to an absolute minimum.

• We purchase our eucalyptus paper in the USA, made only from managed sustainable forests specifically oriented for paper production, designed to reduce the negative impact in the forestry field. The packaging that our paper is wrapped in and the boxes it comes shipped in are also 100% recyclable.

• Even after being printed, our paper is 100% recyclable. The ink we use is a recyclable wax based. Even the ink cartridge is recycled after use.

• We re-use and recycle all incoming packaging & boxing, office paperwork, aluminum printer drums, all plastic ink cartridges and boxes with minimal actual waste.
